Quartz glass is a single-component glass of silicon dioxide, categorized into transparent quartz glass and opaque quartz glass (fused silica). Transparent quartz glass offers high optical uniformity and transparency with a SIO2 content above 99.95%, reaching up to 99.999% for high-purity grades. Opaque quartz glass, made from vein quartz or quartz sand, contains over 99.5% SIO2.
